ArtsLab 2012
“Innovations in Capacity Building for the Arts”

Wednesday, October 24

Chesapeake Arts Center
194 Hammonds Lane, Brooklyn Park, MD 21225

We brought our Lab Coat and Microscopes and NO – we did not grow our own algae! However, we did call this Arts "LAB" for a reason. Attendees participated in a creative conversation about innovations in capacity building for arts organizations (making the back office bones of the organizations even stronger so that the product/service becomes even better.) As with any science lab, we investigated three themes – messaging, resourcing, and engaging -- in the context of attendees’ work, both challenges and hopes. And many attendees came as part of a team of arts professionals and volunteers from their organization:

Folks came with an open mind and were ready to share, investigate and innovate (yes, as a verb!) with their colleagues from around the state (17 Counties and Baltimore City were all represented).

ArtsLAB Notes: Please follow this LINK to a summary of notes and key points from the day.  For those who attended, use it as a refresher.  If you were unable to attend, take a moment to learn more about the creativity that surged through the day.

Help us build something NEW!!!

ArtsLab 2012 was a great success, but we need your sincere and thoughtful feedback.  It will be critical to the further development of this annual event of service to the Maryland arts community.

MCA's ArtsLab 2012 was made possible through the support of:
