CreativeWorks: Multimedia Apprenticeship Program
Session Description:
Since 2008, CreativeWorks has transformed the lives of young people, fostering growth and opportunity. Today, we are called to deepen our impact, sharpen our focus, and align our values and practices to better serve those we support, young and old alike. Our approach unites every effort and business practice toward achieving meaningful outcomes, including employability, mastery, belonging, autonomy, financial stability, wellness, and strong support systems. By embracing these principles, we strive to create lasting, positive change for individuals aged 17 and up. CreativeWorks' Digital Media Registered Apprenticeship Program connects aspiring creatives with DMV employers for a year of paid, full-time training, industry certifications, and professional mentorship. This panel discussion will explain the steps, benefits, and challenges of building an apprenticeship program within arts organizations. We will discuss the routes to accessing public funds for the program and how to partner with the Department of Labor.
