Position: Summer Intern / Camp Counselor 2 positions to be filled Apply by: March 31

Seasonal Position: late May/early June – late August
Hourly Rate: $14/hour
Typical schedule: 35 hours/week; M-F; 8:30am-4:30pm
Job description: Camp Counselors help coordinate the many aspects of Annmarie’s summer camp program, from checking students in, preparing classrooms materials and activities, to helping the Instructors. Camp Counselors are integral to the success of the camp program and requires students who are well organized, patient, and resourceful. Candidates must have experience with, or interest in, working with youth, grades K-12. Interested applicants must currently be enrolled in a degree program, or have recently graduated from a program.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills to—
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions; must be able to deal politely and diplomatically with children of all ages, and the public; must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
Experience, Training and/or Education
At least one year of relevant work experience; must currently be enrolled in college or recently graduated.
Special Requirements: Operation of Garden owned vehicles, including a golf cart. Subject to background investigation.
Licenses of Certificates: Valid driver’s license; must have reliable transportation.
Physical Demands: Summer camps make use of indoor classrooms and outdoor woods and trails. Interns must be able to work in these varied circumstances. Interns assist with class set up and clean up, including single-handedly putting up tables, moving chairs, setting up equipment and supplies, and some janitorial duties.
Working at Annmarie: operating a 50 acre park and presenting a wide variety of programs and events requires staff members who can: stand for long periods of time, walk uneven terrain, work outside in all weather, and spend hours preparing for events and programs, as well as working them. Simply put, it is a very physical place to work. Staff must be able to set up tables and chairs, erect pop-up tents, climb ladders to hand decor and lights, and work the demanding hours of a special programs or event. It is hard, but rewarding!
