Title: Creative Assets Manager (Graphic Designer)

Location: Baltimore, MD – Hybrid Work Environment

Salary: $76,000- $82,000

Reports to: Director of Strategic Initiatives and Planning

BCYF provides a hybrid working environment that gives staff the flexibility to work remotely when not required for in-person meetings or tasks.

About the Role – BCYF, Inc. seeks to hire a creative and visionary media creator to develop content for BCYF and with and for partner organizations, in order to amplify the stories about the great work being led by and for youth in Baltimore. Working on the Communications team, the Creative Assets Manager will be responsible for designing graphics and other media assets in alignment with BCYF’s communications strategy plan in order to increase brand awareness, increase audience and stakeholder engagement, and enhance reach.

 

They will demonstrate a background of consistently generating content that reaches a variety of audience members, with deep experience and knowledge about Baltimore’s community. They will continue the work established by Baltimore Children and Youth Fund stakeholders and advocates, in order to strengthen the brand identity of the organization for better awareness in Baltimore and its surrounding communities.

 

Experience in generating content for Accessibility is a requirement. A bold vision and a passion for authentic storytelling will be key attributes in the successful execution of this role.

 

Essential Functions:

Develop Visual Identity

●      Work with the Communications Team to strengthen and extend the visual identity of BCYF.

●      Lead and generate all visual and design elements for BCYF.

Design: Visual, Social Media and Website Assets

●      Prepare drafted social media assets, including photos, videos, and flyers, for team review and distribution.

●      Coordinate the production of video and audio recordings of BCYF key stakeholders.

Design: Data Visualizations, Presentations and Reports

●      Develop core marketing and reporting products including data visualizations, infographics, and annual reports.

●      Develop illustrations for evergreen usage across platforms, include devising templates.

Support grantee learning and capacity

●      Co-develop, at minimum, two tutorials a year to nonprofit organizations on how to use graphic media tools for effective use (such as Canva) in order to build organizational capacities.

●      Ensure media assets (internally and externally) are accessible for those that have disabilities or identify as being differently abled. This includes, but is not limited to: alt-text inclusion, Braille materials, closed captioning for videos, large print items, color correction for graphics, etc.

●      Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in graphic design and social media engagement.

●      Proven experience in managing complex, multi-faceted programs in a dynamic operating environment.

●      Excellent planning, prioritization, and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented and able to adapt/adjust priorities and timelines based on changing operating environment.

●      Comfortable with digital-based work, especially digital project management, collaboration tools, and video conferencing.

●      Competency and experience in the use of relevant software packages (Mail Chimp, WordPress, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as comfort with quickly learning and utilizing multiple software and online programs (e.g., Salesforce, Buffer, Smartsheets, Canva, Zoom Google Drive, Dropbox, Grammerly).

●      Experienced in and passionate about ensuring items produced are accessible to people with various ranges of abilities.
