BACKGROUND
The Downtown Columbia Arts and Culture Commission is a not-for-profit community organization dedicated to growing arts, culture and community in Merriweather Post Pavilion and throughout Downtown Columbia. As owners of Merriweather Post Pavilion, we work to enhance this cultural centerpiece and the majestic woodland park that surrounds it through artistic and community programs and stewardship. In collaboration with community partners, businesses, government, and educational institutions, we produce, present and promote artistic and learning programs that engage, uplift, and inspire.

ROLE
DCACC seeks a skilled professional with strong coordination, communication and organizational skills. The Program Manager provides leadership, direction and inspiration to the organization’s programming. This position is responsible for supporting the end-to-end process by which DCACC builds and maintains program partnerships, functioning as a liaison between these organizations and the production and marketing teams. This position is also focused on supporting and growing development efforts to help make programs feasible and successful.
This role requires a creative and collaborative mode of working, the capacity to creatively consider the needs of our organization and the communities we serve, and the ability to stay ahead of day-to-day operations. This job is about nurturing and maintaining relationships, specifically to design and implement new programs to enhance and strengthen our growing organization.

POSITION DETAILS
This is a full-time exempt position with a starting salary of $55,000. Benefits include monthly stipends for health/dental insurance and mobile phone plan, ten days of paid time off annually, and an employer contribution to qualified retirement plan. A hybrid and flexible work model allows employee to work partly in-person and partly remotely.

REPORTS TO
The position reports to the Executive Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
●      Meet regularly with the Executive Director and community partners to help lead the creative process of program creation
●      Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and community partners to plan, organize, and realize a variety of large and small community events and programs
●      Maintain and grow relationships with community partners.
●      Design and manage an effective donor engagement strategy for current donors and to grow our funder base through communications, event planning and relationship management.
●      Support fundraising efforts including solicitation and acknowledgement letters, grant writing and reporting, and sponsor benefit fulfillment
●      Assist Executive Director in developing materials for Board meetings
●      Attend programs and performances throughout Downtown Columbia to stay abreast on what our community partners are producing and to stay current with artistic practice, audiences and emerging genres and themes.
●      Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
●      Personally motivated to support the organization’s mission and goals
●      Bachelor’s degree and/or 2-4 years experience in project or program management and arts administration, running a small creative (art- or design-based) business, or an equivalent combination of learned and professional experience
●      Independent and self-directed; requiring little management
●      Demonstrated ability to manage several tasks and projects at once with excellent follow-through and documentation
●      Knowledge and first-hand experience in the performing arts; specialization in one or more art form acceptable but a broad knowledge and appreciation is helpful for success in this role.
●      Desire to work in an environment requiring significant collaboration
●      Strong planning and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail
●      Strong oral presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills
●      Competence with Microsoft Office
●      Able to comfortable move and lift furniture/ event supplies (30-45 lbs)
●      Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends
