Governor Moore’s FY2026 Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act (BRFA) proposal includes a troubling recommendation to eliminate the Arts Stabilization Act (ASA), a 30-year-old funding formula that has safeguarded the Maryland State Arts Council’s Funding and made Maryland a national leader in arts investment.
