Election Dates
Voter Registration Deadline
- Preliminary deadline: Tuesday, June 2, 2026
- Thursday, June 11 through Thursday, June 18, 2026 in person during early voting period
- Tuesday, June 23, 2026 in person at your voting location on election day
- Tuesday, June 2, 2026 online by 11:59pm
- By mail: postmarked by June 2, 2026 by 5:00 pm
Mail-In Ballot Request Deadline
- By mail or fax: Received (not postmarked) by Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
- By email: 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026.
Return Mail-In Ballot Deadline
- Completed ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
- If returning by hand, ballots must be deposited into an official ballot drop box or delivered to your local board of elections by 8 p.m. on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Early Voting Dates
- Thursday, June 11 through Thursday, June 18, 2026
- Hours: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Note: If you are in line by 8 p.m. you will be permitted to cast a ballot.
Election Day
- Tuesday, June 23, 2026
Ways to Vote
Visit your designated Voting Site.
Mail-in your Absentee Ballot.
- Materials needed to request an Absentee Ballot: name, date of birth, driver’s license number, ID number, or Learner’s Permit number.
- If you do NOT have a valid Maryland driver’s license or other MVA issued card, CLICK HERE to request an Absentee Ballot.
Drop your ballot off at your local Board of Elections.
If you chose not to use the Postal Service to mail in your ballot, you are encouraged to mail or hand-deliver your ballot to your local Board of Elections. CLICK HERE to find your local Board of Elections.

- An ID is NOT required when voting.
Does Maryland restore voting rights to people who have been convicted of a crime?
